His Holiness 17th Karmapa
Welcome to Rigdrol Yeshe’s website. Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, we are a group committed to practicing Buddhism under the guidance of our teacher, Venerable Lama Assi. Through him we are connected to the unbroken lineage of Tibetan masters of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, led by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje.
Rigdrol Yeshe Buddhist Institute was founded with the blessings of His Holiness Karmapa, and His Eminence the 12th Tai Situpa, Pema Donyo Nyinche Wangpo.
The Buddhist path involves study, contemplation and meditation. The Karma Kagyu approach relies on all three, with the emphasis on meditation as the means to integrate the fruits of study and contemplation into everyday life.
It is our wish to provide a place where spiritual seekers may find meaning. We cooperate to bring Ven. Lama Assi and other Buddhist teachers to Christchurch. We offer a venue for practice, and a source of friendship, motivation, and support, as well as a place of introduction for those who wish to find out more. We welcome cooperation with others who share similar aspirations.
Regular Chenrezig Meditation Practice
Sundays 10:00 am, Wednesdays 7:30 pm (1 hour) - All Welcome.
